St. Louis winner for Gaither tickets
nominated
by friend who had witnessed losses
Publisher's note: One of the
hardest things we have ever had to do was to select a 'winner' for the
tickets to the Gaithers' St. Louis Homecoming series. All the
testimonies were moving. However, when we received this, we were
moved by a couple of points. First, the losses within such a
short time, including the loss of a child by a mother.
Next, the fact that our followup indicated that the Wolffs had never
had the opportunity to attend a Gaither concert. And, finally,
the fact that this nomination came from a friend, Mrs. Dianne
Connelly, and as Bill sings at the start of his show, 'Old Friends'
are really the best.
"My
friends Cindy and Harold don't have a computer so I am sending this in
for them to be considered for the Gaither tickets.
Last year
Cindy lost her Mother. Shortly after that Cindy and Harold lost their
youngest son. He was married and had a child with his wife from a
previous marriage. He was 22 years old. They had gone through a long
battle because their son Joey had many complications due to his
kidney failure and transplant.
None the less
Cindy knows he is with the Lord, and this keeps her going.Truely they
love the GAITHERS and God. I felt this would be so
uplifting for them to have an opportunity to go to a live concert. So
this is the truth and I pray they will be considered for the tickets.
Their address is 11 Branson Dr. Arnold,Mo. Mr.&Mrs.Harold Wolff
Thank you for this chancefor them to win!!"
We had the opportunity to meet
the Wolffs, and I want to assure you that both were so excited, and
Mrs. Wolff spent much of the evening with her hands folded as in
prayer as she watched the show with a look of rapture on her
face. They were deserving as are all of the others.
There were many other
outstanding entries, many from areas where tickets were not
available. We will be notifying several of those people in the
next few days of their prizes, subject to availability, of CDs or
Videotapes. Their entries will also be publisher.
We wish to thank all of you who
entered. This promotion was a project of
TodaysSeniorsNetwork.com and did not involve any member of the
Gaithers or the Homecoming series.
But, what struck us, was the
depth of the joy of the uplifting spirit provided by all the
performers in the Homecoming series. It is obvious that all of
you...all of us...are true 'winners'
