As our population
ages, driving can become more difficult for older people. But car
manufacturers are making sure automobiles evolve to make driving
easier and safer for seniors.
While it may seem as though automakers are only trying to build fast
and sexy vehicles for young customers, many manufacturers are also
working hard to develop personal transportation for our aging
population. For instance, door openings are being made larger so
seniors can easily slide into and out of their seats. And enhanced
lighting and color schemes are being implemented to make things
easier on the eyes.
Added features like vehicle stability enhancement
systems, anti-lock brakes and navigation systems are also making
driving safer for seniors. And many of these features also appeal
to younger drivers, allowing for well-designed vehicle for all ages.
