AARP CEO Novelli discusses issues facing nation’s
baby boomers and older Americans and what 2007
means for Aging America
The President mentioned issues of health and
economic security that are important to the 50+
community during the recent State of the Union
address. Novelli provides commentary on what the
President's agenda for the next year means for
boomers and all older Americans.
With nearly 38 million members, AARP is the leading
nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for
Americans 50+. On January 16th, AARP along with
other national organizations will be launching a
partnership to amplify the message that attaining
health and long-term financial security is vital for
all Americans and these issues must be included in
the national political debate.
Also, beginning with the 110th Congress, AARP will
be recording House and Senate roll call votes on key
issues and informing its members of the results.
With exit polls showing that roughly one out of
every four voters were AARP members, Novelli
believes AARP members need and deserve to know where
their elected officials stand on the issues.
