Buying a new home...it's still location, location, location
April 2005 -- Spring is often the time people shop
for a first or new home. With such a large investment, prospective
homeowners need to take all the precautions they can to make the
process move smoothly.
As the saying goes in real estate, it’s about
location, location, location. Research the area where you are
thinking about moving to by talking to neighbors and visiting
neighborhood staples, such as the library. And when you find the
right home, take into account not only the price of the home, but
also how much any repairs will cost.
Once you've settled on that dream home, make sure
you're protected with the proper insurance. Get the home evaluated
by an independent adjuster or appraiser so you can insure it for its
proper value, something your mortgage company will require anyway.
Prepare for burglary, fire and other disasters as well with
replacement cost insurance in case your home ever needs to be
repaired or rebuilt. And if you’re buying an older home, check how
many claims the home has had since that can affect insurance
premiums.
And, remember, our more than 8
years of multi-million sales, many award, and customer-oriented
commitment can help you make that important real estate decision.
