Johnny Mathis live at Fabulous Fox Theater in St . Louis…second show added by popular demand….March 24 & 25 ● Presented by KETC/Channel 9

St. Louis, MO/ KETC/ Channel 9 and Fox Concerts present Johnny Mathis for two performances, as he celebrates over 50 years as a recording artist and performer.   Shows are Saturday, March 24 at 8pm and Sunday, March 25 at 7pm.  Ticket prices are $65, $60, $55 & $45 and are on sale now.

Since his initial impact on the music scene in the mid-1950’s, Johnny Mathis has maintained a consistently high level of performance, both on recordings and on stage.

He has performed for Presidents, Heads of State, Royal Families and concertgoers across the globe.  He has been called by many: “The World’s Greatest Romantic Singer,” and has been noted in the Guinness Book of World Records for an unprecedented 490 continuous weeks on the Billboard Top Albums Chart for the 1958 release of Johnny’s Greatest Hits.

Johnny received three Grammy nominations: the first for “Misty” (Best Male Vocal Performance) in 1960, the second in 1992 for In A Sentimental Mood/ Mathis Sings Ellington (Best Traditional Pop Performance) and most recently in 2006 for Isn’t it Romantic (Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.)

He has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame twice, and received the 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.  In 2004, he sang “Over the Rainbow” with Ray Charles on Mr. Charles’ Genius Loves Company.   Johnny was honored that Mr. Charles requested that song be played at his memorial service.

Marking the living legend’s 50th Anniversary in 2006, a collection of personally assembled recordings from the past 50 years, Johnny Mathis – Gold: A 50th Anniversary Celebration, was released.   PBS also aired the concert television special titled, “Wonderful, Wonderful.”  The special is now available on DVD, titled “Johnny Mathis – Gold: A 50th Anniversary Celebration.”

Tickets for Johnny Mathis are on sale now at the Fox Theatre Box Office and all MetroTix locations.  Order by phone at 314/534-1111 or online at www.metrotix.com.  For more information, visit: www.johnnymathis.com.
