CRANBERRY TOPS RED WINE FOR HEALTH
BENEFITS WITH ONE-TWO PUNCH...Fall's
Favorite Berry Boosts Good Cholesterol
For years, red wine and grape juice have been touted as the drinks that
protect against heart disease. But scientists are discovering cranberry
juice may be just as heart-healthy as red wine. New findings reveal
cranberries boost good cholesterol and shield the heart with their
unique antioxidant muscle.
Packing a knockout
one-two punch, with both "anti-stick" and "antioxidant" bang, light
cranberry juice cocktail provides heart healthy benefits, according to
the new clinical study.
Conducted at Laval University in Quebec City,
Canada, the study indicates that the cranberry improves circulation by
increasing the level of HDL, or good cholesterol and acting as a
powerful antioxidant.
This study brings the
cranberry to the top of the list of heart healthy foods, adding to the
long-standing research that connects cranberry juice with helping ward
off urinary tract infections. Cranberries also show promising results
with ulcers and dental health. Beverages like Light Cranberry Juice
Cocktail also provide the recommended daily amount of vitamin C, and
cranberries have more antioxidants per gram than most other fruits.
